Welcome Warren Robert!!

Warren Robert Bragaw was born on 12/27/10 at 8:04 am at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA. He was 7 lbs., 15 oz. and 22 inches long. He has the exact same head circumference as his brother, so I feel much better that the repeat C-section was NOT a mistake. He is now 3.5 weeks old and he just weighed in today at 9 lbs., 8 oz., so the breastfeeding is working. (Each weigh-in elicits a shocked response from the doctors.) So far his demeanor is fairly calm. His schedule is still all over the place. At night I'm thankful for the 4 hour stretches of sleep, but I curse the two hour stretches.

Our appointment for Warren's delivery was at 5:45 am... well, actually, it was 5:15 am but we were told the wrong time the day before the procedure. This led to a speedy prep for surgery. The frantic pace and the fact that the nurse couldn't get the IV line in after two painful tries made me question whether 12/27 was the right day to have a baby. However, the rest of the day and the recovery in general went very well. The nurses at the hospital were WONDERFUL! My doctor was understanding and a real pleasure to be around. Even the food was good. I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience.

Graham thinks "baby Warren" is "so cute". For the most part Graham wants to kiss Warren on the head and touch his hands. He know that Warren only drinks milk for food. I ask him on occasion if he is happy to be an older brother and he says "yes". He definitely is feeling the lessening of his domination of our schedules, but he doesn't see it as Warren's fault but more as something wrong with mom and dad's ability to deal. Still he understands that mom got an "ouchy" at the hospital and he's been very good to give me my space. (In the hospital he came up to my bedside twice and asked me, "Are you ok, mommy?") What a sweet boy!

I will try to blog more but we are still adjusting to having two demanding little boys. I know there will be plenty of joyous stories to share.
