Holy Crap

So today we've hit 37 weeks... we are officially "full term". We weren't sure if we would make it this far after this past week's visit to the doctor. Danielle was told that (a) she has one big baby in there, (b) she is 3 centimeters dilated, and (c) she would have to stop working and stay home and off her feet. We figured that we still had almost a month to get ready, but now we're in 'holy crap' mode. Hard to believe that it could be any day now.

So needless to say, a sense of urgency has set in. We have realized that we need to get this place ready, and the 8 months of procrastination is over. Now we are looking at everything that is not ready and lists are piling up all over the place. We've got bedding to get, car seats to install, a house to clean, ... and did I mention Danielle is on bed rest?

On the positive side, we have diapers and a crib. From what I hear the first couple of months are just about sleeping, eating, and pooping so we are ready for that. And given that over half of the items we still need to get were invented and regulated in the past 20 years I figure we'll be ok.

Anyway, sorry the blog went dark for a little while. We're still getting used to posting regularly, but we're coming around to it. Thank you to everyone that has sent cloths and other items for the little guy. No name to report yet, but we've still got some time to decide... or so I hope.
