So long 2007

The turning of the new year provides Nathan and me a point from which to look back. Graham was born last year. Unbelievable! Yesterday, I saw a baby while in line at the store. He looked about 2 months old. He was tucked away in his car seat, staring out blankly while shifting his glance at movements nearby. His actions were so familiar to me. Then I went home and watched as Graham threw his toys to hear them crash and pulled the rag from his head to do peekaboo and nuzzled his head against my chest to get his back rubbed. It is hard to believe how much such a young life can learn in so little time. Graham's actions have changed from pure physical response to choice of likes, wants and comforts. Each day holds such wonder and excitement for him and such joy for us. He shakes with wide opened eyes when he sees one of us eating. He sighs with exaspiration as he falls on his belly when trying to crawl. He screams from the living room in an attempt to retrieve me from the kitchen. While playing, he reaches out for the comfort of a brief hug just to return right back to the ruckus-making. Now this is the fun stuff!

2008 promises its own challenges for Graham and his parents, but it's own joy and excitement as well. I can only imagine the blogs to come.

The Bragaws wish you wonderment and happiness in the coming year. Happy New Year!!!
