A Boy's Room is His Castle

Nathan went into Graham's room yesterday morning after he woke up and found this scene. When we asked him when and why he had put them in the window, he said he did it in the middle of the night because they wanted to look outside. Maybe, but...

...after visiting Grange Fair and seeing the scarily painted haunted house, Nathan and Graham decided that a sign on the door might keep those monsters from the fair out of his room. I remember having these signs in my room when I was little. (Still, I wish they could've put the haunted house a little farther from the little kid rides.)

Then came the discussions of other ways the monsters could come in. He said that some monsters fly (there were hanging monsters on the haunted house), so we needed to put a sign on his window. Then he tried to convince me that every door and window in the house needed a sign to keep the monsters out. I tried the mom-and-dad-have-super-powers-to-keep-the-monsters-out-so-we-don't-need-signs... I know he didn't buy it, but he's asleep now and we'll have to figure this latter part out another day.

I love the Backyardigans in the window. I think, maybe, they're look-outs. Or, the monsters will get them first, giving G time to escape to Mommy's and Daddy's bed. Poor little guy.
