Graham got his first cold yesterday. Aunt Melanie saved the day, as she does for so many, and imparted her sage mommy/nurse advice. So far G's little bug has not interrupted his rhythm at all. (Did I just jinx myself?) He woke up yesterday with a cough and some nasal congestion. Now he's got those baby crusty snots on his nose. By the way, now I realize why nobody gets rid of those snots... chapped nose. Hopefully we will avoid sore nose as well as poor nursing, restless nights and further infection by suctioning his little nose, elevating his head while he sleeps, running the humidifier and keeping the fluids going.
He does seem to want to be held a little more right now. Funny how just last week he started holding onto me with his knees and hand as I carry him. It's great when these developmental steps take place right when they're needed. My back thanks Graham for waiting until 5 months to get his first cold.
Did I mention that he purposefully turned his head away from the Baby Tylenol dropper? I didn't know this baby could deny his mouth anything!
